Get pregnancy massage therapy in Kitsilano
If you’re looking for pregnancy massage therapy in Kitsilano, Alpine Massage is the clinic for you. Around half of all pregnant women experience some form of pain during their pregnancy. While for some this is fleeting and mild, for others the pain can be more severe and debilitating. Massage therapy has been shown to be an effective way to manage pregnancy pain. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at how massage can help, and we’ll also discuss some of the other benefits of massage therapy during pregnancy.
One of the most common symptoms in early pregnancy is nausea. Massage can help to ease nausea by promoting relaxation and improving circulation. While it may not eliminate nausea completely, it can be a bit of relief (even if temporarily) from the discomfort of morning sickness.
Another very common area of discomfort during pregnancy is low back and hip pain. This can be caused by a variety of reasons: an increase in the hormone Relaxin, which relaxes the ligaments in the pelvis, weight changes and a change in centre of gravity. Massage can help provide relief by loosening tight muscles and improving range of motion. In addition, massage can help to reduce swelling by stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting drainage. As a result, massage therapy can be an effective way to alleviate common pregnancy pains.
Book your prenatal massage therapy at Alpine Massage
Getting a massage while pregnant might sound like a good idea, but you might be wondering “how the heck am I going to lay on my stomach for a massage?!”. This is where pregnancy pillows come in. They provide support and space for you to lay in a prone position (on your stomach) so that you can enjoy all the many benefits of massage therapy while pregnant. Alternatively, if pregnancy pillows just don’t feel comfortable, side-lying is another option. This position allows you to lay on your side with pillows for support.
If you’re pregnant, give massage a try. It can help alleviate aches and pains, make you feel better, and improve your mood. Not to mention, it’s a great way to relax and de-stress. The space itself was also very nice, calm, and welcoming!

They are open seven days a week and their RMTs are fantabulous.
Shout out to ELSIE WEBBER and KERR MCLEOD – two different massage styles yet both are therapeutic and calming.
Almost forgot to mention about the space – love that we take off our outside shoes at the entrance. The sitting area is very serene with the healthy plants. I also appreciate that there’s quite a lot of light that comes in.
Parking – lots of free parking in the area
My daughter, knowing that I have some issues with my lower back, and recurrent pain in my right hip/thigh/glute joints area, she searched for massage therapists.
Her research turned out to be exceptionally good.
Samantha, my RMT was very professional, thorough, and her hands were strong and to the point, making sure she ventured every single muscle, tendon, ligament, as well as joint…I could feel like she was inside my body and knew exactly where to touch, and how deep.
Her dedication, intuition, and knowledge were beyond expectations.
Near the end of the session, after my whole body was massaged, with special attention to the mentioned areas above, she held the back of my neck and massaged the occipital bones in my head, and that was amazing!! Nobody had ever given such special attention to the back of my neck and base of my head.
Thank you, Samantha, for a wonderful treat and extremely therapeutic massage!!!
Every time I think about it, I relive the moment and appreciate your dedication!

He mentioned it was noisy in the rooms as there is a lot of construction going on nearby. He came back more stressed than when he left to get the treatment.
Only complaint I have is parking: I couldn’t figure out if the underground parking is available (clinic is attached to ambulance station). If you’re going at a busy time, you may need to budget a bit more time to find street parking and walking to the clinic. Small detail for an otherwise great clinic!
I kept booking weekly appointments with Elsie for a while. She is amazingly skillful, professional and precise. She well knows how to treat every single muscle over your body. You don’t know how stiff some of your deep muscles could be until she makes you feel them. I can’t recommend her enough.
The place itself is spotless, quiet and cozy. All of the staff are very friendly. I love this place and recommend them to anyone looking for a massage therapist around Kits and Arbutus Ridge.
Great value for what you get as well. She’s building a really great practice.
